Research on Structural Optimization and Improvement of Clinical Performance of Atrial Septal Puncture Needles

Abstract: Guided by the mechanical property rules of cardiovascular interventional instruments, bio-tribological theories and intraoperative real-time imaging demands, this research carries out integrated structural upgrades for atrial septal puncture needles from five core dimensions: puncture head design, catheter body mechanical grading, tip bending profile, surface lubrication coating and radiopaque depth calibration marks. An in-vitro cardiac tissue mechanical test bench and swine animal experiment model were constructed to conduct multi-angle performance verification. Multiple quantitative evaluation metrics covering in-vitro puncture load, torsion and bending resistance, surface friction coefficient as well as in-vivo single-pass puncture success rate were adopted to contrast the functional disparities between conventional products and the newly optimized puncture needle prototype.
