The progress, hot spots and trends in the research of tennis match technique and tactics: A metrological analysis based on master’s degree thesis

Abstract: This paper analyzes the progress, hot spots and trends of the research on the technique and tactics of tennis competition, and provides theoretical reference for the research in this field. The thesis of master’s degree in China National Knowledge Network (CNKI) was searched, and the master’s thesis related to tennis technique and tactics was selected. The bibliometrics analysis method is adopted to analyze the number of published papers and key words, and make a knowledge graph, and then analyze the academic progress and hot spots, and predict the future trend. The results show that the research on tennis skills and tactics in China goes through the stages of exploration and development, rising and fluctuating development, which not only increases the number of tennis skills and tactics, but also expands the depth and breadth of the research. The key words cover many fields such as tennis skills and tactics, tennis matches, players and tennis related theories, and the research tends to combine players with different skills and tactics to form its own system. The future research will focus more on the application research in the actual competition and the exploration of efficient training methods.
