Abstract: Amid the rapid transformation of the communications industry in the digital information era, market demand for interdisciplinary talents with integrated capabilities in system design, engineering practice and innovative research and development keeps rising. Nevertheless, there exists a prominent mismatch between talent output from the traditional teaching model of Communication Engineering and the actual demands of industrial posts. Taking competitions as the core starting point, this paper constructs an innovative teaching reform model featuring “competition-driven teaching and competition-driven learning”. It elaborates implementation paths from three dimensions: restructuring the curriculum system, reverse project-based teaching design, and diversified competition-oriented process evaluation. The proposed model helps comprehensively improve students’ all-round literacy in Communication engineering, boost teachers’ dual-qualified capabilities, and provides operable references for teaching reform of communication-related majors.

Keywords: competition-driven teaching, competition-driven learning, communication engineering, integration of courses and competitions, project-based teaching
