Abstract: The red cultural heritage embodies the profound local cultural connotation and it contains rich historical national information. The integration of red cultural heritage and tourism has become a powerful method for digging, protecting and invigorating the multidimensional value of Red Cultural Heritage, which is of great significance for promoting rural revitalization and building a culturally strong nation. Based on the Symbiosis Theory, the study first identifies three representative symbiotic modes of the integration of Jinggangshan red cultural heritage and tourism, which are symbiosis mode of the integration of agriculture, red culture and tourism as intermittent asymmetrical mutualism, symbiosis mode of innovative red experience as continuous symmetric mutualism and symbiosis mode of red cultural education as integrated symmetric mutualism. Then, the study refines the symbiotic system framework of the integration of red cultural heritage and tourism: In the process of industrial integration, the symbiotic unit forms an interactive process of government-led, enterprise linkage, residents’ benefit and tourists’ feedback. The symbiotic main body jointly establishes a variety of tourism symbiotic energy transmission channels, and the symbiotic interface of active utilization increases the tourism symbiotic benefits significantly. Among them, the red cultural spirit plays a powerful role of internal drive. Last but not least, after identifying the difficulties faced by the current integration of red cultural heritage and tourism in Jinggangshan into consideration, the study recognizes the optimization path of the red cultural heritage protection and integrated development of tourism.
