Progress, Hotspots, and Trends of Tennis Biomechanics Research from the Perspective of Core Journals

Abstract:This study systematically collates and conducts an in-depth analysis of core journal literature in the field of tennis biomechanics using bibliometric methods. It is found that the development of tennis biomechanics has undergone a transformation from basic mechanical theories to the use of advanced equipment for precise measurement. In 1968, tennis biomechanics research began to focus on the mechanical analysis of basic techniques and the initial application of motion capture technology. High-speed photography was used to record and analyze movements such as serving, forehand, and backhand strokes, providing a scientific basis for the optimization of technical movements. Current research hotspots include the optimization of technical movements, the innovative design of sports equipment, and the mechanisms and prevention strategies of sports injuries. In the future, tennis biomechanics research is expected to move towards the integration of multiple disciplines, personalized research, and long-term tracking, aiming to provide more solid theoretical and practical support for tennis training, equipment innovation, and athletes’ health.
