Abstract: Objective To analyze the mediating effect of emotion regulation programs in the relationship between disease uncertainty and anxiety symptoms in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods Among the patients with lupus erythematosus admitted to the hospital, 60 cases diagnosed between January 2023 and January 2025 were selected as the analysis subjects. The patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The former received routine care, while the latter received an emotion regulation program. Psychological state, disease uncertainty and family function of the two groups of patients were evaluated. Results After the intervention, the disease uncertainty scores of both groups decreased, and the score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, P < 0.05. Compared with before the intervention, the anxiety and depression scores of both groups decreased, with the observation group having a lower score than the control group, P < 0.05. Conclusion In the treatment of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, the intervention of emotional regulation programs can optimize their anxiety symptoms and reduce the uncertainty of the disease, which is worthy of selection.
